Rocky Mountain Retreat

We just had a great week away in Canmore. With T working extra long hours and a baby soon to join our crew it was perfect timing! We love getting up to the mountains in the off season because the deals on condos are hard to beat. We had moments of chilly weather but overall we lucked out and had way better weather then we were having back home which was a bonus. The only snag was how sick AL got the first night with a fever and cough but we were so blessed and she was a trooper as we dragged her around and recovered pretty quickly. The beauty of the Rockies never gets old to me; breath taking. Here a some of the trip highlights: (warning lots of pics) Soaking in the beauty while swimming in the very heated outdoor pool (it was a little chilly getting out!)
Melt my heart moments (first time sharing a bed)
Banff Gondola (the boys made the full climb to the top lookout but the pregnant lady and sick girl only went about half way up the millions of stairs ;)
Bow Falls (the kids loved throwing rocks in the water and watching rafters)
Lake Louise - it was beyond COLD here. Seriously shocking how cold it was compared to everywhere else. We broke out the winter gear real quick after getting there and didn't stay too long but it sure was gorgeous!
Johnson's Canyon - we saw lots of great wildlife on the drive out here. We made the steep hike up to the lower falls and it was amazing. T was Super Dad and pushed the kids in the double stroller the entire way which was exhausting I am sure (it barely fit in a lot of the tight/narrow board walks). I was glad we did it but being 31 wks and plagued with Braxton Hicks the entire hike made it a little more exhausting.......lol.
Calgary Zoo - on the way home we hit the Calgary Zoo with our dear friends that moved away not too long ago. To say that the kids had a blast would be an understatement! The weather was a bit rainy but it made for the perfect trip with no crowds or lines.
Overall it was just so nice to spend time as a family, no distractions, no work or church pulling at our attention in the evenings, just time together. Loved it!
