Sunshine in my Soul!

After several very long, cold (-30 temps) and snowy (several feet at once) weeks, the clouds lifted, the snow stopped, the sun returned and the temps have risen to above freezing!!! It feels like Heaven every time I feel the sun shine on me.
We have been loving this little "break" from winter. On the weekend we had the chance to get out and play a bit. The snow is way too deep (waist deep) in the yard so no snowmen were built be we had a great time. We attempted sledding but the runs at the pond by our house were no longer packed down and poor little AL was buried up to her throat half way down the hill so we went home and Daddy built a fort. The kids were still just as happy be dragged around the neighborhood on their sleds even if we couldn't go down the big hill.

The kids rode their bike.

Played in the snow.

Soaked in the sun.

Shovelled snow. (Mostly back onto the driveway)

Supervised Daddy's fort building.

Got a little snow to the face in said fort.

Daddy then spent the next hour turning the fort into a huge tunnel that neither child will set foot in (at least he had fun!).

Nothing like a little warmth and sunshine to make you feel so alive.

  1. So cool. (pardon the pun.) We've has AWESOME warm weather the past three days. As in plus temps! It's melted a good six inches and we could go outside!!! I wish it your way. Love the tunnel idea.

  2. That looks like so much FUN! I wish we had snow. Even a little bit would be great.

  3. Hurray for nicer weather!! Our snow is almost gone -- when they were grading the streets Matt almost went out and asked if they would dump a load in our backyard so he could build a fort!
