Soccer Season
Today was my first official day as a real Soccer Mom! We signed up both kids for soccer and they were so excited about it. We lucked out and were able to register them in a friends "league" called Little Strikers for 3-6 yr olds. Basically it is all volunteer run and limited space (about 48 kids) and so the grand total on the cost was only $40 a child including a uniform and soccer ball for each to keep. My kind of deal, especially at this age!
T signed up to coach and ended up with a group of 6 kids age 5-6. AL is on a team of 6 kids aged 4 and JA a team of 3 year olds.
JA had the hardest time (which I some what aniticpated) but his issue was just the fact that he really wanted to be with his Dad on his team.......poor guy. He really did luck out with an amazing coach though. It took a bit of time for him to warm up to it but playing a game of stealing your ball back from the "sleeping dragon" won him over in an instant and he had a great time.
AL loves being independant and was thrilled to not have her parents or brother with her on her team! She was actually a bit annoyed when JA and I joined her team for snack time.......ha.
Soccer at this age is hilarious and entertaining and I can't wait to see what the next two months have in store!
All dressed and ready to go with their balls
Wanting to head over to the other field to play with Dad
First time in goal
A little game play (lots of Mommy encouragement required just to try to get the ball going towards a net ;)
