Moving Part 1

We are officially homeless.  We turned over our keys at 7pm Friday night, drove away and felt a tightening in our chests.
The last few weeks have been a complete whirlwind of packing and cleaning.  It was beyond a ton of work when you start factoring in the garage, storage rooms and yard but we got it done.  The house was spotless, the garage empty and a gift certificate was left to have the yard "spring cleaned" after the dog (who would have guessed we would still have so much snow on the ground?), and I supposed most importantly we have the money in hand to put towards our new home.
The night before we moved I had a little pizza picnic with the kids and as I glanced around the room I couldn't help but get teary eyed thinking about all the memories that room held.  On October 12, 2007 while in the hospital delivering AL we sold our previous house and 2 weeks later we settled in and made this house a home, a year later we brought JA home and then almost 4 yrs later baby W joined us.

Those floors have seen miles of pacing to rock a baby to sleep, toy cars raced over them, tiny feet running over them to see what Santa brought, a family gathered on them for FHE, their large share of spills and messes, along with cuddles, tickle fights and 5 1/2 years of love!

We are now settled into my parents house.   We are beyond grateful for their willingness to accomodate us.  And we are counting down until August when our new house is ready!

My parents actually have a basement suite that has been sitting empty but wouldn't you know it the month before we signed to build our new house their friends did the same thing and moved into the suite.  Here is a peek at our squeeze into their 2 spare rooms.

 We have now had 3 pretty successful nights of sleep (aside from a major teething freak out last night) and I think the kids are adjusting pretty well.  We are just glad that in theory the weather should be warming up so we can get in lots of park time and hopefully not drive my parents too crazy ;)
