Birthday Boys!

T had his 43rd birthday on the 10th and WR had his 3rd birthday on the 18th.  We have had a lot of fun celebrating how much we love these guys!
My sweet mom babysat so that T and I could get out on a birthday date a few days before his big day prior to company coming to town.  We went out to our favorite Mexican restaurant and then we headed to the lake and took out a kyak for a tour around the lake.  We then went back to the dock and swapped the kyak for paddle boards.  We seriously had so much fun.  We paddled to the middle of the lake jumped off and floated for a while and then paddled some more.  It was so fun feeling like kids (especially with no kids to rush back to;)
On T's actual birthday we had a big family party planned for that night for T and WR but let's face it we all know it is all about WR lol.  We wanted to give our Daddy some extra love so we packed up a last minute picnic (thank you Subway) drove down town and then stole the birthday boy away and left the concrete of downtown and headed to a park on the river.  We had the place to ourselves and had so much fun!
 Trees were climbed

We went for a fun walk looking at all the squirrels
Played some soccer in the field and then sang and ate cupcakes.  Then raced Daddy back to work!
When I got home I wasn't sure how I was going to get everything done but by some small mercy WR was wiped and just watched a movie and didn't come down stairs once :)
He was pretty thrilled with what he saw when he did show up!
Just before Target closed (sigh) I snagged this cute robot birthday banner and knew I wanted to use it for a party
My sweet friend helped me cut out these gears on her silhouette and I assembled some robots in lieu of goodie bags
Pinterest ideas helped inspire the cake and the little Miss was determined that her Dad needed his own cake so she set to work on her sweet project

She also helped me pump up a pile of balloons to toss on the trampoline

In honor of Great Grandma's visit we made Mennonite Farmer sausage burgers
All the family turned out for the feast

And this guy was up to his favorite trick of locking me outside (it makes carrying in groceries extra fun when he does it each time I grab a load lol)
The boys opened gifts and T thanked me for this lady
WR was pretty excited with this chair

And then we had cake!

Blowing out the candles proved to be tricky and so Daddy gave him a hand

We had a great time testing out T's gift the next day at the beach!

On WR's actual birthday we were busy all day with my mom's 60th party so we grabbed some Happy meals and then headed to his first ever trip to the movies the night before.  He loved it.  We sure love this guy and marvel at how he was exactly what we never knew our family needed.  He has a way of bringing out the good in all of us.
Happy Birthday boys!
