Summer Road Trip - Day 2 Cont'd

One item on our to do list was to ride the Kettle Valley Steam Train again.  WR is in love with trains and so we knew he would love this! I called in the morning and couldn't believe our luck when we managed to get train tickets and to top it off it was their monthly train robbery event too.  It was cooking hot but we had a blast.
The sheriff came around and gave all the kids sheriff badges in hopes they would help him protect the train incase we ran into any trouble.
The kettle Valley is beautiful.  We loved the scenery along the 2 hr trip.  We took my Granny on this trip several years ago and it was so fun to hear her memories of riding this rail line as a little girl when it was still in operation.
WR was start struck when the conductor came around to punch our tickets.  This is the kid that can often be found running around the house with his brother with a hole punch for the same purpose ;)
We were given Wanted posters of some of the local trouble to keep our eyes out for

We steamed out over the old tressel bridge (gah so high)
T and JA sat a few rows up from us and were loving the trip too
We got off to stretch our legs at the end of the line

And then we steamed back towards the station and sang songs to the bango!
And suddenly out our window we saw some robbers come flying by shooting their cap guns!

Our train was surrounded and the saloon girls aboard our train pulled guns out from under their bloomers and carted off our sheriff!
And we got robbed of all of our coins (for charity)
The little sheriffs aboard the train tried to help us out but that Garner Valley Gang was no match for them ;)

Eventually we made it back to the station for a yummy lunch for all of the passengers
 It was a great ride!
And the drive back from Summerland was pretty beautiful as well
Before bed we headed to the beach for a dip to help us cool down before we tried to sleep (Granny's house was sticky hot!)
We love the Okanagan Lake. JA made an instant buddy with a boy his age and played hard.  I cracked up when his new friend ran over and hugged him and kissed his cheek when he had to leave.  JA is not a touchy feely person and rarely lets us hug him lol

My little fish was in her happy place
A pretty action packed perfect day in the Okanagan.
