The next morning the kids hit that freezing cold hotel pool again and then we drove the 4 hrs to Vernon, BC to my Uncle's place.
Anyone who truly knows me knows I have an the hugest disdain for public bathrooms (like I would rather hold it all day than set foot in one). By this point in the trip I was ready to lose my mind over all the insane bathroom trips. Children stop touching everything in sight and for the love, stop opening the bathroom door when your Mom is peeing!!! There was a circus feel at every bathroom stop lol
My Uncle (my mom's baby brother) married the most fabulous lady a couple years back. She has grown up on the lake and in the last year they inherited her parents place on the lake and gutted it. We had stopped there for a day on our last trip when her parents still lived there but getting to stay there was like a dream. These two are the most welcoming and gracious hosts. We truly had a blast. Some serious post island depression had set in on our drive away from the coast and this sure did help distract us!
The weather was glorious and the lake was oh so inviting. The water level was really low along the dock so it was perfect for floating around and relaxing.
My aunt's brother was in town and took us out on the speed boat for a cruise around the lake. WR was so exhausted he managed to pass out inspite of the huge bumps. I didn't get any pics on the ride but JA got to drive the boat at top speed and was about the happiest kid around.
When we got back WR had the best sleep to the rocking motion of the dock.
The absolute favorite thing for the kids was the sea doo. They had a complete blast. And do did T and I. After 12 days in tight confinement with our children the freedom of the sea doo (child free) was the best feeling ever!!! So fun.
The kids could have stayed out all night!
We were spoiled with a delicious home cooked meal and spent the rest of the evening soaking in the sunset, (dodging a few bats) and listening to the kids play on the sand as we visited!
Blurry pic compliments of JA
The spoilings continued as we spread out over a couple bedrooms and had the best sleep of our trip!
