A Happy Father's Day

Father's Day just becomes more and more fun each year, as the kids get older and get so excited about it!  Today truly was a Happy Father's day indeed.
The kids and I set out working on a few projects a couple weeks ago with the aid of  some Pinterest inspiration.  We made Daddy a great shirt for his special day after seeing this cute idea.

The kids each picked out their own paint color at the store and were pretty excited with how it turned out.
There were lots of great ideas for interviewing your child about Daddy online so I compiled a few ideas and then made up my own.  We got a pretty good kick out of their answers.

We started the day off by letting Daddy sleep in while we made him a pretty delicious breakfast (the one advantage to having afternoon church).  The kids were so excited for him to come down and put on his t-shirt and unwrap his present (an ice cream maker).  JA was pretty sure we should have blown up balloons to make it a really good surprise party ;)
After breakfast the kids convinced Daddy to join them outside while they chased him around the yard in their P.J's, with little water guns!  What a good sport.

We tried to get a quick pic on the way out the door to church but the kids just weren't in the mood (I'm sure no one else ever has that happen......lol).

During sacrament meeting the junior primary got up and sang "I'm so Glad when Daddy Comes Home".  I was a little doubtful that our shy JA would get up but he went up there with his sister in hand and they both sang their hearts out.  It was adorable.

After church we headed to my parents for a backyard wiener roast!  The storm clouds rolled in but not a drop a rain came and then they departed.  A perfect evening.

 Gotta love the gravel along the fence..........loads of fun for little people!

 The highlight of the evening for JA was playing fireman and hosing out the fire with Grandpa.

 I made these cute little Candy ties and sent everyone home with one.

It is always fun to celebrated the great men in our life.  I have been blessed with the most wonderful and caring father that is always ready to listen and offer his "words of wisdom".  My children are beyond blessed with a Daddy that loves them more then anything.  He works so hard for us and comes home at the end of each day with energy to spare just for them to run around, be silly and have fun.  His love for his children is evident in all that he does.  We sure do love Daddy!
