Baby Quilt & Summer Fun

If you recall a few months back I posted some adorable fabric that my super talented mother would be transforming into a baby quilt.  My Mom has been one busy lady with work, grandkids, holidays and then sewing curtains for my brother's cottage out east.  The morning Baby W was born she finished the binding and brought this beautiful quilt to the hospital.  What can I say, I LOVE it!

Baby W loves it too (Thanks LF for the adorable outfit he is wearing)
A crib skirt is in the works in the darker grey fabric that makes up the corner blocks.  Can't wait to see it all together.

Baby W has captivated our hearts but JA and AL are still front and centre.  We lucked out and Daddy is home for 3 and 1/2 weeks with us!!!  The kids have both had their issues adjusting to the new changes at home.  They both love the baby and treat him like gold and are starting to settle into a new routine.  Having Daddy home has made a world of difference.  The kids have been on adventures every day with Dad and  I have been trying to take time to do a few quiet activities with them at home so they can get some quality attention.

As it turns out the dog decided to have a few adjustment issues of her own.  As the kids returned from the fair yesterday she ran out to the garage to greet them as per usual but she failed to come inside with them and we failed to notice (not like her at all).  Sadly it took us a few hours to realize she was missing.  I felt sick to my stomach realizing that I had taken her collar off earlier in the day while trying to nap because her tags were so noisey and she kept coming in and out of my room.  T searched and searched until dark and the kids went to bed distraught.  I went to bed praying that we would find her (losing the dog would have been a little too much to deal with for the kids with all the adjustments this week).  Thankfully a neighbor found her and took her to the pound.  We were worried about how much it would cost to get her back (several hundred at least).  We lucked out and they took sympathy on us at the pound with just having a baby and just charged us for the kennel fee and new lisence ($60 total) and waved the fine fee!!!  Hooray for blessings.

Hopefully we will have plenty more summer adventure in the month to come!
