Garage Loft

Well, I think I spoke too soon on my last post.  We woke up to more of this...............ugh

 The only silver lining was that it has given me complete motivation to stay home and clean and do laundry. (I had to take a pic because in 5 mins it will never look like this until the next time ;)  We also have stopped doing childcare for my friend on Tuesday in an attempt to help keep WR from getting so sick so it was extra fun to clean.

 The snow also helped justify baking cookies.  I have a hunch it will be a cookie and hot chocolate kind of day after school pick up!

Now onto the real purpose of this post.  Our garage has been under construction this week!  We have this nice high ceiling in our garage.  One of our neighbors came up with the most genius way to use this space and a few neighbors have copied his idea which he is more then happy to help explain. 

 T has been wanting to tackle this project since he first set foot in our neighbors garage last september.  He finally bought all the lumber a week or so ago and then things really got set in motion when his brother came to town to work for the summer (this is right up his alley and he has yet to find work) win win for both of us.  T had Friday off so they set to work.  T had originally told me he could do this job on his own and I would just have to run out and give him a hand here and there, not gonna lie I was sure glad not to help once I watched them ;)

 By the end of the day this is what they had

 The kids are in LOVE with this space and keep trying to convince us to turn it into a play space instead of storage lol.  They had a blast helping T screw down the floor boards on Saturday.

 While they helped this guy kept me hoping with his usual antics

 On Monday T's brother showed up and finished the stairs! 

 Now T just needs to add railings and a few shelves and we are set!

 A good 150 sq ft of storage just waiting to help clean up the garage and hold the seasonal bins from the basement.  Love it!
