Busy Boy Time

Now that JA is officially done with school our normal routine has been turned right around.  Up until this past month JA and WR don't typically spend too much time playing together.  JA was usually at school and then WR was napping all afternoon until the big sister came home.  The boys have really started to play well together the past few weeks.  They have had their share of tiffs but it has been fun to watch them build a stronger bond.

A few things that have been keeping us busy (aside from the usual errands and chores and non stop car/bike riding on the driveway):

JA asked if we could build a car one morning.  good thing Grandma and Grandpa had left a couple boxes the night before!  That old saying that a box is the best toy is so true.  The boys played in their boxes for days until they finally fell apart!

JA kept trying to convince me that he should be allowed to sleep in his car.  A perfect fit!
We got some more use out of annual zoo pass.  These boys are train obsessed so we may have taken a few spins on it.
JA is very convinced that he is going to be the train driver when he grows up.  A good summer job while in university perhaps :)

We had a lot of rainy chilly weather so at the very first sign of a tiny sunshine we headed to the park with a dozen other little friends.  It got so chilly while we were there but that didn't keep the kids out of the water!
JA has really missed having his school buddies and regular play time there so this was the perfect opportunity to play with friends!  (It even prompted us to set up a weekly park play date with a big group of moms through the summer)
We are sure looking forward to AL being done school this Thursday so she can join in on the fun too!  Fortunately we get to join her school for a family picnic and then another day when her class heads to the beach.
