Preschool Graduate

Hard to believe that two years of preschool has come and gone for JA!  He is now officially heading to kindergarten in the fall.  The growth we have seen over the last two years has been amazing.  I actually got choked up as I expressed my deepest thanks to all of his teachers, EA's, Speech, OT, etc over the past week.  We have been truly truly blessed.

Every year his preschool ends the year with a family picnic.  This is our thirs year and we always love it.  It is so fun to spend time with old neighbors, friends from church, school and the community.  We always leave feeling pretty lucky to live in such a great community!

 T was able to join us too which makes it extra fun.  JA's class only had 4 boys in it this year so 3 of them were pretty tight (the other boy liked to hurt everyone so not a favorite lol).  We have lucked out with the same amazing teacher the past three years as well, we love her.  I hope WR lucks out and get in her class when the time comes.

 Once again this year his funding for speech/fine motor landed him with the BEST aid.  Mrs.J has been outstanding and so full of energy and enthusiasm.  Her husband is a cop and she knows just how much JA worships them so she brought him to the picnic and he showed JA his badge (instant win).  We will miss her.

 Last year JA had another amazing aid.  She didn't return to work for the organization his funding was through so we lost touch.  As it turned out she had her first baby and spent the year being a Mom.  She surprised JA and showed up at his picnic.  It was so fun to see her and reflect on his growth this year (insert tears here).  Her baby was adorable too.

JA asks every day if he is going to kindergarten.  He misses school already and can't wait to get at it again.  Yesterday I got to have a meeting with his assistant principal and then his speech, OT and coordinating teacher from the past year at his new school.  It made me feel so relieved to know that he will continue to have great support as he transitions to his new school even though he is no longer elidgible for funding.  The school will send home a social script with pics of his new teacher, office staff and the building at the end of the month.  The school is massive and they even went so far as to offer to put AL in a classroom on the same wing of the building as him (the Gr.2's are spilt between two opposite sides of the building), they also want to give him a private kindergarten tour at the end of August to help ease any anxiety of the unknown.  Again I got choked up as I said goodbye to his amazing team yesterday.  I love that they genuinely love and care for him.  So lucky.
