Great to be Eight

I feel like I blinked and suddenly eight years has flown by. It truly is hard to believe AL is turning 8 yrs old on the 12th. She is just such a sweet, caring, helpful and considerate girl. We are so grateful to have her in our lives.
Earlier this week we took advantage of the beautiful weather to snap a few photos of our girl. Alysha has chosen to be baptized next month now that she is 8 and we wanted to capture this special time. She finally got to wear this beautiful dress we've had tucked away from a wedding that never happened and she looked stunning. (And thanks to my sweet friend who touched up the photos they are perfect for her baptism invitations).
This afternoon we headed to the art studio for her birthday party. That's right folks, I didn't put an ounce of overboard work into this party and it was so lovely. Showed up with a cake and goodie bags and the rest was taken care of.  AL and her friends had so much fun working on some Paul Klee works of art. We can't wait to hang the giant canvas in her room.
