The YMM fires weigh heavy on our minds daily. Our hearts aches for all that the people are going through and we truly want to help in any way we can. Right after the fires I posted an offer to take a small dog or cat with no immediate replies. My childhood bestie TT is the biggest animal lover in the world and constantly searched the posts looking for animals in need of foster and threw my name on them (but with so many others offering it took a while to get a bite lol). Finally a sweet lady contacted me about her fur babies who had been rescued from the fires but she had already flown out east with her kids to ride out the fires back home with family. We were thrilled to help!
First thing Saturday we picked up our little guinea Pigs "Stormtopper and Skywalker" from the rescue center (when we first arrived they mistakenly tried to give us 3 pitbulls lol)
To say that we instantly fell in love would be an understatement. AL has claimed Skywalker for herself and JA has declared Stormtrooper is his baby.
Even the dog tries to sneak in kisses much to their terror!
WR is always happy to keep an eye on them and feed them veggies
Their adorable faces seriously crack me up. Who knew guinea pigs were so fun?!?
We are loving the time we have with them and I'm sure my kids will be sad when the time comes to say goodbye. For now we are happy to give them some love and lift a huge weight off their owners shoulders.
